The Downtown Acton BIA has regretfully cancelled the Acton Winter Carnival starting in 2019 due to lack of resources. We are looking towards the future in the hope that we will be able to serve our community in other ways. Thank you for your years of support.
A great community event which takes place the last Sunday in January. This family friendly event starts off with the 197 Squadron Air Cadets Pancake Breakfast at the Town Hall Centre. For a nominal fee (this is a fundraiser for the Air Cadets) you can enjoy a nice hot breakfast before heading to the outdoor activities.
This year Prospect Park hosted our outdoor celebration. Thanks to the donation of our generous sponsors we enjoyed ice sculptures with our famous maple taffy station, the Rotary ice picture frame and the ever popular kids zone ice blocks. Dog carting, tractor wagon rides, obstacle course, bbq, bingo, face painting and arts & crafts for the kids as well as the Halton Hills Fire Department display with their smoke house. Music and fun. A great turnout even though the snow was scare this year. Thank you to our volunteers and community groups who really made the day a success!
The day ended back at the Town Hall Centre with board games, hockey game on the TV, music and our colouring mural. Tanner’s Pub supplied the grub! Chili and beer was on the menu to warm everyone up!
