Supporting Our Group Homes

The Acton Ministerial Association—which consists of all the Christian Churches in Acton—partnered up with the Acton Tim Hortons to bring some cheer to the four adult group homes in town. Representatives from the Ministerial dropped off donuts, cookies, and coffee along with a bright potted plant and a card to the residents on Wednesday, April 22nd.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the ability for individuals living in group homes to go out to get coffee and socialize has been severely impacted. Many homes are not permitted to have residents leave, as per provincial guidelines.

Sending their love

Recognizing these limitations make life very difficult for those living in the homes, the churches of Acton wanted a way to reach out and let individuals living in group care know that they are valued members of the community and that they are missed. They sent their love to the residents, and gratitude to the staff for the work they do around the clock.

“The doors of churches in Acton may be closed but their hearts are not” said a Ministerial release regarding the drop offs. “The Ministerial Association would like to give a big thank you to the owners at Tim Hortons in Acton for their generous donations of coffee and treats. They also would like to thank the staff that make the goodies. We are blessed in Acton to have such a dedicated business and workers serving us”.
